    Arrow Spring Training Camp 2010

    IT'S ON BABY

    http://www.bicycle-coach.com/index.htm

Spring Training Camp Blue Ridge Mtns., VA
Sunday April 18, to Saturday April 24, 2010

Spring Training Camp is ON for 2010. Sign up now, send a deposit and secure your spot.

    WHAT:

Camp dates this year have been moved to a later date for warmer weather and longer rides. We've got some really special rides cooked up for you. Spring camp is designed to challenge you, give your riding season a real shot in the arm and provide a place where you can ride in a group.

Many people plan their winter training such that they will arrive at camp ready to train. Our expectation is that you are ready to ride on rolling terrain at an 15/16 mph pace in a group and re-group at the tops of long(er) hard climbs. We ride as a group, are non-competitive and boy howdy will you earn that home cooked meal each afternoon. This is NOT your average training camp. We are small, dedicated to riding our bikes and know you will learn alot and come home with new fitness and ready to tackle all your hardest challenges in 2010.

Our camp will include many of the regulars and some new *suprise guests. Hint, what's more fun than one super talented good looking stud-muffin custom framebuilder???

    WHERE:

We are located in rural Virginia near the infamous WinterGreen ascent...which we will descend at least once. Roads are generally very good, traffic is low volume and locals are friendly. Oh, there happens to be a world famous BBQ shack at the base of camp road....just sayin'.

    ACCOMODATIONS:

Rooms at the main lodge are simple, clean and perfect for tired bodies. We will have horseshoes and a practice cyclocross course setup if you have extra energy...I doubt it. The Inn itself has three super nice rooms with huge beds. We also have a cabin that is reserved for couples with a child, special needs or in some circumstances serves as a second kitchen.

Please reserve your spot early. We sell out every yr. and this will be no exception. If you have any questions ask me in a PM or call my cell.

THANK YOU to everyone who has asked me about the 2010 camp. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Warmest Regards, Josh and Doreen and SULLY (the new uber std. poodle)

Sign me up! This last season, my best form and most of my best placings were in the six weeks after the camp. Yup, it works!

Bumping this up for new folks.

Ask some questions I'm keen to fill every room with motivated riders.

Please note that camp is designed as a non-competitive environment where riders of varying abilities get what they need....BEAUTIFUL MTN roads and lots of miles.

We place emphasis on lots of laughs, great support, on the road coaching and so much more.

Next 5 people to sign up get a free bike detailing from Tom Kellogg. Thanks Tom :) Oooooooooo I'm going to pay for that.

    Default Hey TT:

Am I going to have time to ride with all the hands on bike work, or am I just going to be staying up 'till 2:30 every night?

    Default So ...

no carrot cake needed this year? You may get some no-shows if they hear that June's cake isn't on the menu for the arrival dinner. Oh wait, is the cheese cake for a different night but the carrot cake is still on for the first night?

You do realize that the expected 5 lb. weight loss during the week is out the window if we keep this up. ;-)

Default Actually, I was just thinking ...

... should we plan on roasting and serving a different coffee each day after the ride? I could bring my drum roaster, roast a pound of a different green coffee each morning , let the beans "rest" while we are riding, and do up a few batches in our French Presses to go with the required rice and beans post ride chow down.

    Possible cups from me:
    - Yerga Cheffe - (my favorite)
    - Mandheling
    - Peru Monte Alto
    - Tanzania Peaberry
    - Zambia Terranova
    - Uganda Bugishu
    - Brazil Santos
    - etc.

BUT, if any folks want to contribute their favorites, we'd LOVE it (maunahaole).

    Thoughts?

Got you covered. I'll contact the grower in Ka'u and see if she will send green beans as well. The timing may be tricky, but the worst that can happen is that she will say no - there may be a ag quarantine issue with it as well.
