    Default Levi's Gran Fondo

Anyone riding the gran fondo out of Santa Rosa, CA on October 3?

The route takes in King Ridge, Seaview and Coleman Valley, so it's a beautiful ride. Also, it should take less time than any double I have ridden, so that's a plus!

Looks like registration is closed. Nice ride - beautiful time of year to hit that terrain.

Bummer. I have a spot myself, and will be riding.

I will also likely do a test ride either this weekend or next in and out of Occidental and will let Salonistas know. Leave early morning with post-ride lunch/brunch in Graton (or perhaps Labor Day festivities at Bella Winery http://www.bellawinery.com/events/vi...-weekend-bella)

Take your good climbing legs and a camera. Have a safe ride.

I have a free entry through a sponsorship deal but the ride is the day before the first BASPS 'cross race so it's a no-go for me :( Oh well, maybe next year...

Just a heads up for people in the Bay Area.
I will have a display at the Gran Fondo exhibit area in Santa Rosa on Saturday October 3rd.
It is at Findley Park in west Santa Rosa http://www.levisgranfondo.com/ I will bring my new Lugged Titanium Town Bike with the wooden wheels as well as other touring bikes and my one of the first shipment of New Taiwanese BLT's -(they are in stock and ready to go) Stop by and say hello if you are in the area.

    Regards,

    Default Busy Weekend

I'll be up there for the GranFondo. I'm going to try to do it at a controlled pace as I am also hoping to race BASPS on Sunday.

    Default How'd it turn out...

I didn't do the Fondo because of the BASPS race. What category did you race?

Sadly, the Granfondo sufficiently kicked my butt so that I was unable to race on Sunday. The extended climbs at 15%+ were wholly unexpected, and therefore caused my legs to revolt and strike on Sunday. I did make it out to McClaren to support some friends (BryanF and Nerdwin) who did race, but my lower extremities hurt just standing on the sidelines.

Ahh yes, I rode with Nerdwin yesterday and I haven't met Bryan yet...I owe him some mtn. bike parts but Shimano isn't being very helpful. Going to do the other BASPS races or Lion of Fairfax?

Planning on racing LARPD or Surf City this weekend, Fairfax next weekend, then BASPS the week after that. I can only plan three weeks ahead, but am hoping to have a pretty full schedule for the rest of the season.
