Boone Roubaix - 2010.04.03
http://booneroubaix.com/course
Can any of you mountain people tell me about this route? Specifically the dirt portions?
If I need anything larger than a 25, I would need to reconfigure a bike.

You know, they had me right up to the last line on this page http://booneroubaix.com/rules . I don't think I have the appropriate clothing for such an event. ;)

This is the first time I've ever wanted a racing license. That looks so cool.

That race does look like alot of fun, too bad it's far away from home.

Jeff, I will be riding the Roubaix. At least, I plan on it. Not sure of the exact route, but need to look closer at the map. Usually the roads in the area are fairly smooth and not too gravely. I may only ride 25s too, otherwise it will be 70mi on my cx?!

thanks for posting this. looks like fun. I actually rode a few of these roads (not the dirt ones) on last year's spring break trip. some of the areas are fairly wide open, I remember it being surprisingly windy.
I'm interested in this concept as I'm starting to get more into cycling but not really up on the racing end of things. Bit of a bummer that day-ofs and cat fives are relegated to one lap, but guess that means I'll get to enjoy watching the fast guys race across the finish while I drink a beer.

Some changes in the start times, etc. Now it is a "race" as well.
I still need to figger out what bike and tires I will be riding.

Well that's unfortunate. I thought the gran fondo idea was interesting (and still a race).
