LF: Kid's road bike for friend

Salon I have a friend whose daughter is interested in getting into cycling...there are a few new road bikes that are available, but money is pretty tight for them. Anyone here have a kid growing out a 24" road bike they'd be willing to sell? PM or email davidbkayatgmaildotcom

what you want is the no -longer-in-production trek kdr1000

this is a 24" wheeled kids road bike - 8sp sora. it is not a toy..think scaled down adult road bike.

they generlly sell used for $400ish and hold their value. I think I sold the one I bought used for $50 more than what I paid - it was a few years old when I got it and a few years older when I sold it

A friend of mine got one of these off the Spokane Craig's list for approx $300 a couple weeks ago and it was in excellent condition. They pop up every now and then... A great kids road bike.

fwiw the bike I got my daughter on after the kdr1000 was a 44cm specialized dolce - at the time the only production 44cm with 700c wheels.

on the mtb front she went from a 24" specialized fsr (full suspension) to a size XS santa cruz juliana...chosen becasue it was the most afforadable (relatively) full suspenision mtb with hydro discs.

all these bought and then sold on local CL

she is now 13 and has been riding a 48cm road and a size small womans mtb for the past two years
