Go across the hall to Serotta classifieds to see Pal Dave Thompson's ads for my old Terraplane 62x59 and his nearly new Quiring ti sloper in 59cm. Lovely bikes at great prices ATMO.

Ken:
How did you like the Kirk and why did you sell it? Looking to replace my 1995 Colnago (too small) and looking for a 62 ctc with 59 tt, but looking for something at a little lower price for a back up bike. I keep looking at the Kirk though.
Jeff
the Kirk has no vices. I have lots of bikes and a Goodrich on the way. Dave is an old pal and was regretting having sold his Terraplane some time ago.
I had shared with him a rather humorous story about my misadventures with one of the forumites from across the hall. Aguy wanted to buy a Kirk, I told him he could have mine. He wanted pix, build info, etc. that I was happy to provide including pix of the entire build process starting with the newly-cut tubes. This "buyer" then did nothing for weeks. Not uncommon in my experience, I'm sorry to say.
So Dave said he wanted it and I shipped it to him. Some time later the first guy was miffed to learn the bike was sold. It was never advertised or posted for sale.
BTW, if you "need" a 62x58 "Classic" I could part with my "Stelvio" with all Nuovo Record group and $650 Joe Bell paint job for the price of the paint. It is a wonderful ride and started life as a Nishiki Pro when they wanted to prove they could build a world-class bike with Campy drop-outs, etc.
