Pass Hunting?

Sorry for the minor thread hijack. Grant Petersen is an untouchable descender of Mt. Diablo. The few times I've ridden with him there he passes everybody on that descent. Shirt flapping, Tevas and Wald basket not withstanding. I watched him blow past a car and then several fully kitted strong racers who tried to give chase. They couldn't touch him. A very fond memory.
I don't know what those dudes are dressed for but tradition be damned. Those socks have got to go.

OK I peeked. That is very cool. I'd love to hang with those cats they most certainly understand what bikes can be used for.
Man I really wished I'd learned something from three years of high school Japanese. If I had I might be able to read what looks like a pretty cool sight.
Given the circumstances, I'm not sure the outfits are any more ridiculous than full lycra. No matter how you stack it, the whole deal looks pretty badass.

i think the sign says cover up because of ticks, bugs, spiders, mosquitos, etc...
because those dudes are covered up to not get bitten by things.
that's my take.

Transit stopping? This road itself…? You laughed unintentionally.
Here the shoulder having fallen, to be enormous has become narrow. Carefulness!!
