that's a solid century. good job.
I did 4 hours on the road bike wednesday, 2 hours on the mtb thurs, 4 hours road bike friday and two hours on the road bike this morning.
panasonic JOBA did it for me.
My bike is back together and dialed in! Just a run around around the neighborhood with the kids today but look for a report tomorrow. I bet it ends with some lady on a hybrid with panty lines flying by me towards the end.
THats so funny because I got smoked by damn near every woman I saw
no ride this weekend, yet. promised the girlfriend we'd get stuff done around the house and yard we've been putting off forever. so far, so good.
tonight: Sir Richard Bishop, Ben Chasny and Chris Corsano (RANGDA) at Velvet Lounge in DC, with Major Stars and Kohoutek
hoping to hit up Patapsco either sunday or labor day
Swam about 1.5 miles in the ocean and ran about 5 miles tossing the ball to Sully the uber Standard Poodle. Pics. to follow.
Sunday likely the same.
Beautiful in Maryland today. 5 hour ride capped off with beer, burgers, bratwurst and tequilla shots... I had a great day.
Hike today after a morning ride. Tomorrow long mtn ride.

Played timer today for a hilly time trial and only three guys showed...maybe it was the 11mile course with 5-20% grades on rough roads in 90+ degree temps? First place guy 54min...cat 2 55 year old...nice job. Local rider and winemaker sponsored the ride...Tolosa Wines. Tolosa Sustainable Central Coast Winery, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay
Rode about 40 with a few locals and a couple guys from the race team. One of them was 10 year old Ben, who joined the SERT this year and took second in his class at the Nevada City Classic in June. Realize it's 100'/mile around here, not exactly flat riding. Ben hung right in there. Kid has heart! It's gonna be fun to watch him develop over the next 3-5 years if he sticks with it.
suffered for 3.5 hours in 90+ degree heat through canyons with no tree cover in Orange County. Feet swelled up and felt like I was walking on coals with every pedal stroke.
First reenactment of the year today. Finished second in the A's. Beyong pumped!
Smiling because I was on the home stretch.

Was going to head over to Eurobike...But with such nice weather, and the summer coming to a close, I opted for 90 miles and 4500 ft of climbing instead of the bike-equivalent of a live sex show.
Slow rollout this morning due to previous night's beer consumption. Out to Waimanalo. ANother typical beautiful day in the islands.
Clear over the pali today. I don't get tired of this.

Hard to see in the pic, but there was great visibility over the channel today, easy to see the eastern part of Molokai.
More suffering tomorrow. Probably more pics too.

Body surfing the remnants of Hurricane Earle all day yesterday.
40 miles singlespeed- flat and windy this a.m.
Gonna wake up my brother and go surfing now.
I think the Jersey Shore locals are ready for summer to be over.
Shake down trail ride today. Down to Mount Vernon, up to DC and then back home. My bars are too high. The front end feels... gyroscopic. I have a 10mm spacer under the stem right now. Time for that to go, and hopefully that gets everything low enough. I was trying to be conservative with steerer length, but it looks like I'll be whacking off another 2cm. Oh, saw a middle aged guy in a speedo fishing on the shore of the Potomac.
Absolutely gorgeous weather these past couple of days. Finally the heat and humidity have gone away (though they will return by Tuesday/Wednesday...of course) and I was able to ride and remember what it's like not to come back literally drenched in sweat.
Saturday: 83 miles with 5000 feet of climbing. Went out to Sugarloaf, up Sugarloaf, and then back home. Very windy.
Sunday: 87 miles with 4300 feet of climbing. Went out to White's Ferry and rode all the dirt/gravel portions of River Road en route. Came back the hilly way.
Monday: Who knows? See how I feel tomorrow. Sleep sounds good, though....
Saw lots of deer, horses, and cows, and today saw a fox and two wild turkeys.
Songline, sounds like a nice ride. I hope you hit Mt. Ephraim and climbed up to the top of Sugarloaf.
I did a nice ride dipping between Baltimore and Harford counties around Long Green Valley. This is farm country north of Baltimore. Went past Boordy Winery (really pretty place) then out along the Little Gunpowder working my way to Jericho Covered Bridge, one of 6 or 7 covered bridges left in MD. After that looped back just south of Fallston, MD through Gunpowder State Park via Guyton road. Guyton turns to gravel about half way down. I hit it way too hot and heard the dreaded hiss about 2/3 through. Fixed the front tire and began climbing only to realize my back wheel was way soft and that I had double flatted. Kcuf! Stop again, patch tube and continue on. Today was absolutely perfect weather... 72 degrees, sunny blue skies, a gentle breeze. Oh, finished the ride with a prosciutto/mozzarella/basil sub from Mastellones on Harford Rd.

I followed false_aesthetic and others' advice from the East LA thread and rode up Nichols Canyon to Mullholland Dr. Nice piece of road engineering that Nichols Canyon Rd: Very steady grade all the way up. Blew the turn onto Sepulveda, cause when I looked at the map I didn't realize it didn't intersect Mullholland. My prize for sloppy planning? An all expense paid trip to Encino and another 500 ft. of climbing! All in all pretty good day on the bike.
