only real ride was first cross race of the year on monday (seattle labor day cross) threw together the SS parts at 10am road 20 miles to the race totally overgeared then on lap 4 rolled my needing to be replace rear tire while in the lead, dropped back and finished 6th, it was good mental prep for starcrossed, racing hurts!
attaching up the stairs to take the lead pre tire issue

I have officially written 2010 off as a loss for cycling. I thought an early-summer coccyx injury had healed enough to make riding possible. Went for a 40-miler last weekend, the last 15 of which were pure, unmitigated agony. Not riding again until I'm confident it's totally healed. It's hard to describe how awful last weekend was.

So I went to Knoxville, tailgated, watched my Volunteers beat up on some little guys, and drank lots of cheap beer. Spent the rest of the long weekend at the lake with a woman who's smokin' hot, funny, drives her G37 like it was meant to be driven, and hasn't realized yet she could do better than me. I'm adapting to this time off nicely, thank you.

Got out yesterday and rode to Kailua town and back around the outside way. Too late a start to go over the Pali Hwy. Flatted in Waimanalo town, had a joyous time changing the tube out on the bus stop bench in the blazing sunshine. Turned around at a cool little store near the beach. A friend and her team went there last week, rumor was that they are trying to position themselves (the store) as being cyclist friendly. The owner/manager has done a couple ironman events, so he's on the right track. They had lots of good grub, some comfortable benches in front and patches/co2 carts at the register. Big plus was the floor pump stashed behind the counter. Got the air into the tire that I could not get in with the frame pump. Also saw a really pretty chocolate lab puppy. I will keep the store as a target for future rides. Came home and beered and napped. Good monday.

I went to the Giro di San Francisco yesterday. Good races. Saw a few Spookys (team Clif), Rock Lobsters, Steelman, Indy Fab, and the usual Specialized, Cannondale, Giant, Fuji, Pinarello. One guy in the Pro/1/2 race was on a Klein, easily the oldest bike in the race. Sergio Hernandez was the big winner.

Already looking forward to next year.

Saturday hiked the M and then watched the Griz beat the ever loving dogshit out of Western College.
I was just getting used to having our oldest daughter back in Missoula for her Junior year and you send these photos. Love climbing to the M with her every time we get to town.

Awesome weather for a great 85 mile ride in upstate New York. So happy that it's getting cooler for the fall.
