Needs more ass grab.
It was 20 when I left the house

This is the reason I keep a beard in the winter. No need for a stupid neckwarmer when you have nature's balaclava

It took me a little while to figure out what was making clunking noises mid way through my 90 minute ride. Then I realized my waterbottle was frozen solid. Gotta remember to add a splash of whiskey to keep it liquid.
First tracks today, even though the snow is two days old. It was much colder then when it fell, so it was loud and crunchy. Cold so it was agony of the hands for 30 minutes to begin, then agony of the feet for 30 minutes at the end. The 60 minutes in between, well the whole time really, was ecstasy.
Wish I was tough enough to scratch my belly on the crusty snow.
Tire check.
There goes my anonymous web persona!!
TBR - thanks for taking me out today! Great riding and great company all in my backyard (literally)...
It's raining cats and dogs, we're under the effects of Gong, an explosive cyclogenesis Hope to go for a morning ride tomorrow, before rain comes back.
The path along the river is now under water.
The good part about a light snow cover is that you can go really fast. The bad part is that the rocks are still there. You might not see them, but you'll certainly feel them.
The Motor. I just steer.
Went from 28 degrees to 45+, which meant we arrived home soaked through. But it was all good.
Mid 30s and windy here. 2+ hours, then homemade chicken soup.
No pics- Sheridan Road is boring these days. Here's one from this week:
Started to watch a Bones Brigade documentary last night but with a high of 20F tomorrow and 12F on Monday, I'm saving it for the trainer.
Last warm day for the next week and I chomped at the bit to take advantage of it. The last mile home is a good climb, mixed with a little plateau on a private lane through the woods. It always sends a message that the ride is coming to a close, but the day is only beginning. Pretty lame I know, but cycling brings out the poet and philosopher in all of us, right?

It warmed up to 45F, I was very happy to be riding outside... for a block. Blew front tube, ripped sidewall of the tire, had to walk the bike home.
Just got back from 2 hrs. on gravel, 45 deg. out, middle of Jan., gotta love it. Under the weather this week so it felt like all my fitness went away, felt good to just do a non-structured steady effort to clear the chest and lungs. Deep freeze comes back tomorrow so it'll be more trainer time.
j44ke, any Rear Admiral that will allow us to play "Captain" in this weather is to be respected.
No worries borther- you are totally safe.
Your eyes are covered- there is no possibilty of digital retina identification from the aliens. Alien abduction averted. AAA.
On another note: Totally fun. We need a little longer to really finish the whole trail- it is some of the best singletrack in all of Westchester.
Loved the growing up story.
Lets ride again soon.
You live near Barnacle Billy's in Ogunquit?
I like that place- Lobster roll.
I had to be in Kennebunk for a site visit so I drove up the coast rather than 95. Beautiful day on Tuesday. Tried to go to the Clam Shack on the bridge but it was closed. Will have to write down Barnacle Billy's for next time. Also still need to get to the Clam Box in Ipswich.
The bike ready to go.
Freezing fog, temps from 27-31 degrees F, depending on who you believe. But the roads were just wet, mostly.
Had to take the glasses off within the first mile because they glazed over with ice. When I got back, I realized why the brake levers felt so slick.
The gloves were even iced up.
But I wouldn't trade ther two hours on the road for anything.

2.5 hours in the rain, rain rain. Felt cleansing but now I'm beat. My crank had a couple of centimeters of play when I got home left to right. NDS crank arm was loose and sliding off. Good think I shook my bike to see if there was any water coming out of the ISP and heard the knocking.
Auk's words to live by:
Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.
