Will shift to some of the darker stuff as the weather cools off. Pretty good and less frn than the imported Belgians.

Not a beer, but I am enjoying a special treat since I wont be biking tommorow due to rain.

    Crown Royal Cask 16.

So good I feel guilty drinking it.

I do love the Ommegang Abby Ale (the dark one). I haven't had it in a while, but it is great.

Some time ago, my wife and I held a blind taste test for a few friends with the Ommegang, Chimay Grand Reserve (the blue label), and Affligem Dubbel (another dark belgian abby style). All three are pretty similar, with the Ommegang being a bit sweeter than the other two. The winner was the Chimay, of course. If the Ommegang is on sale, or significantly cheaper than Chimay, I get it. If it's close to the same price as the Chimay, though, I figure you might as well live it up. Can't drink that much of the stuff, anyway.

I love the Belgian beer. But it's not an every day thing for me. That's Spaten Optimator!

Allright, enough with the sexy talk.:D

As for dark and ale--I was sucking on PBR's whilst mowing today. Have to balance things out with some FLAVOR.

70-odd easy miles with BBQ in the middle tomorrow. Mebbe I'll pack a brew.

I'm in your state right now. Columbia, SC to be exact. 'til noon tomorrow. But I'm done drinking already.

Doof, here's hoping we can ride together sometime. Trade bikes (Doof and I ride the same size) and have a grand 4 hour ride.
