    Tournesol Sportif

Here's a few photos of the new Tournesol commuter. I'll post some better photos in the gallery once all the details are ironed out, but here's a preview. Martin's work is gorgeous, Steve is a pleasure to work with, and it rides really nice.

Please ignore the rear derailleur-- I'm in search of a long cage version or I might have to switch to a smaller freewheel. The beauty of friction is I just swapped in an old Veloce long cage RD and I'm good to go. A decaleur and pump are on the way, and I plan on cleaning up the light wire routing.

A couple more... the paint is awesome but you have to look close to see Martin's work.

    Saturday.

It took forever to put together despite Steve had already fitted and drilled the fenders. I don't know how builders manage to build bikes like this and make any money.

no thanks, i was just curious.

back in the dark ages before the dawn of time--you know, before integrated shifters were born--i used those shifters on my campy super record-equipped colnago. that was probably after trying modolo kronos levers, if anyone remembers those plastic doohickeys. the simplex shifters were THE cat's meow.

i was just surprised that someone has 'em around, and even better, puts 'em to good use years later. great stuff, gorgeous bike.

Outstanding, it takes vision to source a bike like this and no doubt lights a few fires for folks who just want a freakin bike that does not need frequent pampering. That's a workhorse commuter bike. L O V E it.

    Scrumptious!

I particularly like how well-proportioned it is for a big bike.
    GO!
