they were all great.
keepin it modest tonight - Saint Cosme Les Deux Albion
sierra nevada bigfoot barely wine
does that count?
Nothing for me tonight. Dinner at home on Saturday and we opened a nice bottle of burgundy made by Vincent Dureuil-Janthiel. Sunday we went out and had a Rioja that was very nice and pretty darn reasonable but I'm spacing on the house.
Over the weekend I had a Sineann 2003 Chardonnay, Panther Creek 2003 Anden Vineyards PN, and a Bethel Heights estate grown 2004. All fantastic. Bethel Heights won the day (weekend) as always.
I also had a pint of a new Pike Brewing Porter.
It may be rainy, but the PNW makes good drink.
2003 Carmen Merlot Reserve tonight. I know merlots aren't cool, but his particular one is quite good.
Sunday night we had a bottle of Juan Gil at a restaurant. Good, but not amazing.
Another one I've been enjoying lately is the Achadia (sp?) Old Vines. I think it's the buy of the year under $20.
My father is coming to visit from New York in a few days, and with him will come some of his famous demi glace, and with said brown delight we will make the the fairest sauce known to man, Bordelaise.
2003 Wynn's Cab Sav my secretary kindly brought me for Christmas. Quite nice, though a little flat - 2003 not being the best vintage on record.
Lupé-Cholet 2006, I bought a case at Christmas with a view of having a couple of bottle ad laying it down. I now have 4 left and need to buy some more :)
2005 Radio-Coteau Von Weidlich Zinfandel.
Any of you big enouh wine geeks to use CellarTracker? If you collect wine, you should check it out.
I'm a big fan of Fetzer wines from California..... but I'm guessing that's pretty cheap compared to the others mentioned here! :adore:
We had the Merlot tonight.
I've got a 2005 Mosby Primativo open now. Hmm, I'm not sure if it needed more time, or if it's past it's short prime. Usually, Mosby's wines are unique and a lot of fun.
The homebrew barley wine needs another week or so before the first taste.
2006 Fontanafreddia Barbera 2007 Wine Spectrator top 100 90 points at 12 bucks a bottle. Typical really good Italian vino.
