Spectacular looking Mr Dave Kirk. Your work continues to impress. I'm expecting delivery on a bike from Bozeman today. Whats in the water out there? How'd that little place end up with two of the countries premier frame builders? Soon I'll have to make it two from that part of the world with you sir.
if this is thursday, what will happen friday?? zank and kirk made my head explode today.
digin' the box lining on the Engin... nice way to blend the modern w/ the traditional.

Drew
that bike is smoke'n hot
That's my favorite engin ever. Lots of cool modern details - love the closed face stem, post system and OS bb shell. Love the double binders too - i'll use them on the next frame I build.
Love that Kirk - it looks like a photo-negative of a white bike. And that Engin is super-hot too. FNL forever!
Zank the bike looks great. Dave Kirk I know it's not your paint but the paint on that frame looks so god (the lug lining is incredible).
Dave, nice lugs
Zanc, nice lugs![]()
Cheers Dazza
That Engin is wow! I need that bike but Zank needs to cable it for me
Thanks guys but I want to make sure credit goes to my painter Todd for job so well done! We have been doing this paint scheme for a while but the off white is such a classic color.

Hey Dazza, How do you miter the seatstays, machine or hand or combination? I'm assuming you bend that little end down during brazing. From someone that builds a few frames, the talent out there is mind boggling.Bill
Just had to go back and look at that Engin again.....dang
I'll take all of 'em.
Really, so many beautiful bikes displaying both aesthetics and utility for intended purpose.
And it isn't even Friday yet!
yo JG, it that my race frame for 10-11 season?

Chuck Norris is expected to win gold in every swimming competition at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, even though Chuck Norris does not swim. This is because when Chuck Norris enters the water, the water gets out of his way and Chuck Norris simply walks across the pool floor.

I mitre the seat stays by hand
via file and the taper to the point is on the linishing belt
Taking my time and offering up the seat stay and back to the vice and file (sharp new files)
over and over till all is sweet
for me
It is not a fast operation and it can not be rushed
I then clean all ready for brazing and then bend the tip down to sit down snugly
I then flux and tack the stays to the seat lug from the back/inside just under the seat binder boss
This way the tip is not cooked
one has to flow the heat and point the flame in tricky ways
I have an Anvil Seat stay mitre fixture that I collected from Donissimo at NAHBS, but it is not set up yet
When it is set up, it will be to rough the cut closely to what is needed and then I am sure to ease the fit and profile by hand
Cheers Dazza
