    Default Suggestions for paint

Sometime around December, I'll take delivery of my new steel frame (Argonaut). I've ridden the BLE hard for the last 3+ years plus it's traveled with me quite a bit in my hard case so the paint is starting to look rough. I was considering stripping it of parts and getting a new paint job. Other than sending it back to Dario, can anyone suggest a paint guy to refinish my Peg? I know JB can do it, but he is typically backed up with builders frames. I spoke with him in April and he was up to 9 months for additional work. I'll probably get the carbon fork painted as well.
    I heart brown bikes.

I think the cost and delays of shipping it back to Italy are prohibitive.

Do you want it to still look like a Peg or are you satisfied with "just" fresh paint? I think Dario will ship decal sets to certain guys.

Dario will, I have repainted two Peg's and there are reproduction sources for all his decals that are of very high quality.

You're in Poulsbo, (I'm ex-Bainbridge Island...) and if you're considering shipping the bike back east to Spectrum, etc.. then consider Hot Tubes in Worcester, Ma. As someone else wrote, my first stop might be Bill Davidson. Any of the better bike shops may know some local guys who can paint good.

I'll definately keep you in mind. I use the framebuilding card (flyer) that I got from you at the San Diego show as a bookmark. I'm going to attend your school one day.

Check out Circle A. They do all sorts of repaint/repairs as well as paint for buliders such as Gaulzetti and Geekhouse.

+1 for Tom Kellog and Spectrum. Tom did a masterful job repainting my Peg Marcelo and used decals from Dario. Couldn't be happier.

So here's a question that came up on another cycling forum recently:

When folks say "Spectrum" in response to the oft-asked "Who do you recommend for paint?" question, are they usually referring to Spectrum Cycles (Kellogg) or Spectrum Powderworks?

these folks are great to work with. very friendly and very patient. I had them repaint my steel 1998 LeMond Reno and it came back looking as good as it did when I bought it.
