Gets my vote too. Zabel is a class act in my book. It'd be nice to see him win one more stage, but I don't think he's got the kick to beat Cav.

    Love the classic paint...WOW!!

Your_Friend!, that bike looks like it is on vacation? Is it actually racing in the tour? I agree that it is indeed a quite lovely bicycle. Those old Colnago decals are the best. Sometimes old things are the best things.

the question is: is there any other bike that looks half as good as this one? to each his ownatmo.

i'd like it twice as much if they painted the whole thing instead of showing a little carbon. i suppose in some alternate universe its like a modern day chroming of blades, but i think exposed carbonstinks. to my eyes, with carbon, either paint the whole freakin'g thing or go without. i've only ever seen one bike with paint and carbon that i didn't think, "what? did you run out of paint and couldn't afford more? really?"

I wonder if he still has the 1996 green jersey winning frame. Or did they strip that from him when he admitted to doping during that singular season. I really like the old-school colnago, but I don't really understand why this guy is allowed to ride the tour.

i'm voting the Gentle Lovers in for next years tour.

    agreed.

It also looks like the headtube swallowed the headset.

I ride a steel bike and am retro by nature but I like the Times pretty much every year. Integrated headsets notwithstanding.

I know this has probably been discussed before but ... what is the controversy over integrated head sets? Is it a matter of durability or function or just the looks?

I admit it's the look. I rode one for a year or so, and never had a problem with it. I just don't dig the look.

I'm not a fan, unless it's one of these:
