What's left out there that's decent? May I correct to assume that Sugino is the best of what remains?
I also see cranks from Velo Orange and FSA, but figure they're more basic in quality level.

Just seeing the title to this thread, I immediately thought: Sugino.
I've heard good things about Specialites TA. Been wanting to try a set of Vortex cranks myself.
Thanks Gradient and EddieB. I figured it was Sugino, and I like their cranks. But wanted to double check if I was overlooking anyone else.
Other than Peter White, who domestically (or UK I'net) sells Specialites TA ? Sugino ?
I'm in the constant search for new 180mm compact square taper cranks. Not that my Ritchey Logics wil ever die, but a new frame begs for new cranks.
Merry Sales is the purveyor of most things both awesome and Japanese like Sugino, Nitto, ect. Plus, the person who awnsers the phone is named..........Mary Sales.
Those logics will die - all mine did - radiating cracks at the square..........White Ind sells Enos in 180.
Phil Wood as well, of course.

Ribble in the UK sells Stronglight Impact (which I believe are forged by Sugino), square taper, compact. They're about $71. They only have 170 and 172.5mm arms available though.

it's a great question, and i would love for there to be more choices. curious to see if anything else is out there, as i would like to go ST for my next build, i'm lusting for a phil wood ST BB.
the velo orange grand cru one looks interesting, but i've been wildly underwhelmed with VO stuff in the past, though people seem to really like the grand cru items, like the long reach brakes.

I knew about the Stronglight chain sets, did not know they were forged by Sugino. That make me more likely to order one.
Thanks again.
DaVinci crankset looks nice. It is available in a wide variety of options.

Ben's stocks (sometimes) a nice Sugino called the Mighty Tour.
Sugino makes many more cranksets (it seems) than it exports to the US.
Euro-Asia carries Specialties TA. I just ordered a Carmina crankset from them. Nice stuff.

That Sugino Mighty Tour crankset is really beautiful
That Mighty Tour is one I would like to find, would be great on one of my bikes. Combine it with a Phil Wood BB and it would be lifetime.
Sadly I have yet to find one anywhere for sale.
