I'm looking for some other options for alloy tubular rims besides Reflex. Anyone have suggestions? I realize that Velocity still makes 1-2 tubular rims, but is there anything else out there?
Thanks

nemesis
Ambrosio Nemesis rocks my world bro...
laughter has no foreign accent.
Ambrosio Nemesis.
Just got a set and love the ride. They're a bit rare, but not impossible to find either.
I don't know if my source wants to be inundated with orders as wheels aren't his primary business.
Some folks here who are in the business (I no longer am) know the channels to getting these.
They're probably the best box section rim available nowadays.

what's wrong with the reflex?

Not that I recall. That would be cool.
I'd try some Reflexes. But I don't think they are available with a 28 drilling and the hubs I have both have 28 front. I've got two sets of the now desirable and expensive silver Record hubs in the rare 28/32 configuration. There is a source for 28-hold Nemesis but not for the Relfexes AFAIK.
If I could get some 28/32 Reflex rims I'd be more than happy to give them a shot.
Ambrosios are cool, but sometimes they have bumpy rim joints....I am a Reflex fan.
kinlin?
What's the sidewall height compared to a reflex? It's no biggie seeting up cross canti on the Reflex, but some of the older rims have no space at all for the pads.
Of course, LOTS of NOS rims show up on Ebay...After having looked for years, I recently got a set of Mavic Mach2 CD's....in 28 hole drilling. This rim is a shallow (by today's standards) aero rim and they weigh about 450 g each. The kicker is that they have eyelets! I have a Campy Record (2006) rear hub for these and am desperately searching for a front. CX-ray spokes and they will be set to go. If the front hub doesn't materialise, the project may grow further to include PMP hubs...See what a bargain those rims were?
Many races have been won with those rims.
I remember last time Freire won Milano-San Remo (in 2007) he was rolling on Nemesis while practically everybody else was on deep profile carbon rims.
I peeled the "Torelli" sticker off of a Triumph rim last night. Underneath was an "Ambrosio" sticker. So, yes.
Also, the rims are really nice. 460-465g with eyelets and a bright finish. Dead true out of the plastic. I'm looking forward to getting them built up with some White Industries H2 hubs.
