Default orange grove, cooter & pond ...

plucked them petals from a sun flower, "relate this shite / relate it not.." relate won out:

ridin the atmo ole team cx early a.m. on them new challenge 32's -- ole tires shot and want the "new tred nips" deleted, along with seein how the 80+ psi feels - road bout 35 miles up / down water tank road.
tires road like my return to american terra firma, back in 69 .. super great - but what did i expect from atmo sponsor components, other than -- "great.."

    now for the real story:

about 19 km's from home --- thought i'd cut through the groves, round jenning's pond and the dry swamp...
ima lookin at them rs's on the crown and thinkin, "this bout as good at she gets.." then this huge frickin "cooter" comes out in front of me.. up through the orange trees i go, thrashin the shit out me legs -- over a sand bank and ass en over elbows into the pond..
sand up my ass, in my ears, through helmet vents ---- and under me bridge/mouth & rhino restoration, from ole 67 wounds...
can't suck air anyway, can't hear --- frickin cooter* just lookin at me, so i rinse my mouth / nose, hope no bull pissed in the pond close prox --- go get the cooter and put er in the pond -- earned my 37th merit badge .. "cooter transport."

forgive me atmo, but i picked up that ole team cx and both us silica loaded sob's .. into the pond we went --- damn that felt good, with a big smile..

got home and tammy - "where have ya been, upto what, favorin yo right side and ya look like shite & where did the blood come from.."

uncle remus --- here i am... (*cooter is a soft shell, water luvin turtle --- some folks eat er)

Sorry Ronnie, but I laughed hard reading that! Mostly because it's damn funny, but also because I've done similar things in the past.

I'm glad you're okay and your primed for D2R2. I hope to see you there. Look for a guy sporting another ex-RS crosser (smaller than yours) and carting a box 'O Dale's Pale Ale wherever he travels.

Great story, thanks for that. Your writing reminds me a little of Padgett Powell:

Padgett Powell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have a riding buddy who's schooled me in the integrity of turtle transport when we ride over in Michigan.

    Confirmed!

Scraped the mud off and read the label - it says 30-90psi. Somehow I remembered 30-60psi.

Ronnie, please be careful that you don't hit Roman @ D2R2. He has been known to do an impressive imitation of a cooter after a few too many beers.
