Default My dream bike has arrived.

Owning one of ATMO's bikes has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember.
I acquired this from recently and was told this is a 1985 model.

Mr. ATMO Sir, could you verify this? The serial at the BB is RS - 56 - 9615.
Do you have any records of this frame?

I do have a very curious question: why is the rear measured 135mm instead of 126mm?
If this is indeed a 1985, I would reckon the rear will be 126. Am I wrong to assume this?

Was told that this was (re?) painted by BB - Brian Baylis, a 1985 model year and a 56. The Bike came as is and I think I need to repaint the fork only.. the large scratches just kills the overall impact of such a beautiful frame.

I am hoping to find a NOS SR seatpost and SR 7 speed freewheel to complete the finish.

Any input and criticisms always welcome. Thanks!

I am so jealous! Such timeless beauty. If I can work in a visit with atmo next week when I am out East, I am going to order one that in 6 years time will make everyone drool---and you won't be drooling just cuz you're old. Ha! Nice find. lucky you. wish it was a tiny size for me-mo!

Sloping top tube in 1985. Atmo was way ahead of the curve! :thrasher:

Default Thanks Guys.. I love it.

So, since the rear is 135, should I go modern or should I keep this a period piece? Looking for a NOS SR post and SR freewheel is like, you know.. almost impossible.

Would a 2006 Record Group work and fit well with this frame?

Super nice. I've got a used but decent Dura Ace 7 speed freewheel if that's any help.

I've also got some whacky uber light 7 spd. freewheel made of aluminum I won in a race many many tacos ago.

Simon - stop drooling and get on to the ride report already. Are you going to get in there with some frame saver?

The seatpost looks correct. It is Super Record If I am not mistaken. The stem is not correct though for the year. Those came out around 1989 or 1990. The 1/A or 1R would be more 'correct'.

But don't worry about all that shit. Just ride and and have fun.

It would be helped by a set of Ambrosio tubulars though....

I think I hit the wrong emoticon.....

There is absolutely no criticism. It is a beautiful ride and I wish I had one. Just pointing out that a set of Ambrosio tubulars would be even nicer! I have a set and they ride great!

Default Ok ok ok ok ok...

I want to.. I'll take any advice because I'm going to restore this 24-year old beauty.

Tubular wheelset - which ones and where can I find a period set in NOS condition?

Regina - I have one but looking for the Campagnolo SR freewheel. The last 2 sold on ebay for a frikkin $180! Used!

    Chain - which one?

I would like to get a NOS SR post to replace this one.

Any sources and help will be most helpful.

    Thanks, Guys!
