Default MS-150 Bike Ride in Nebraska

First, I want to thank Too Tall for allowing me to post this here. Just stumbled upon Velocipede yesterday thanks to a post over on frameforum. Glad I found it!

After leaving the industry a few years back, mostly due to having twins and needing to support a family, I've been more off the bike than one. For the last 3 years, my sister in law, whom got into riding thanks to an old Cannondale I built up for her, has been bugging me to ride the MS-150 with her. Finally, the start have aligned and we are going to ride the 1 day event here in Nebraska. At a minimum I'll be riding the 50 mile ride, but may try for the 75. Since I've only been on the bike twice so far this year, I think those are reasonable goals.

Now for the shameless plug. Below is the text from the emails I've sent out to friends and family to help garner support. Right now I'm a bit short of my goal of a minimum of $500. I'd be a LOT further away if my CEO here at TD Ameritrade had not made a generous donation of $250 out of his own pocket to support me. At any rate, please read the "plea for cash" below and if you are so inclined, follow the link at the bottom to donate.

    Thanks!!!

I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the National MS Society In order to help combat this tragic disease. I'm doing this by riding in the 1 day, MS-150 ride here in Nebraska. I would greatly appreciate any support you can offer in this endeavor!

    Why I Joined the Movement
Having multiple sclerosis means that you may not be able to walk when you wake up. Or that you may suddenly have impaired vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. The symptoms of MS are different for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.

    Why I Ride
I've registered for Bike MS because I want to do something for the people who have been diagnosed - and because I want to do everything to prevent more people from learning what it means to live with this disease. Today, there is no cure for multiple sclerosis, and with a diagnosis occurring most frequently between the ages of 20 and 50, many individuals face a lifetime filled with unpredictability.

    Why You Should Support Me
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will use funds collected from Bike MS to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. Because we choose to bike for those who sometimes can't, because we choose to donate to Bike MS, we are moving to create a world free of MS.

It is fast and easy to support this great cause by making your tax-deductible donation online using the link below. Or, if you prefer, you can send your contribution to the address listed below.

Whatever you can give will help - it all adds up! I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Thanks Giff, appreciate you letting folks know about good events where they have a pretty reasonable excuse to ride their bikes and throw a few bucks to a cause. Report back :)
