    Default Lock Ring Wrench Recommendations?

I'm looking for a new lock ring wrench. My Park tool (don't know the part # but probably the cheapest from their lineup) just is not cutting it. The Paul's tool and the Makino Pro Super Tool look nice but maybe overkill for me. Spendy but worth it?

Any body used Harris Cyclery's modified Hozan?

Figured this crew would have some opinions.

Nick, that's a good looking tool and I may need to add one to the chest but for this application I'm looking for fixed gear lock ring tools. Any thoughts?

I had a park lock ring spanner and got sick of it slipping.

The Harris Hozan holds the lock ring just right.

Seriously, buy it. You won't be disappointed

check out the E.A.I. Keirin Multi Tool (http://tinyurl.com/mg96zv), that is awesome. switch cogs out, tigthen them, loosen them, loves lockrings, feels nice in the hand. Also, the VAR lockring pliers have worked really well for me. I can't find a really good pic of them but they are amazing.

I'd always wanted one of the plier-type tools, but they seemed too expensive. For $14.95 I bought a cheap pair of curved-jaw channel locks, then filed the end of the jaws with die grinder and hand files to create appropriate "teeth" for gripping lockrings. Works very well.

A bargain is a joy forever.

These are not the VAR but a similar plier style from Hozan and look very good as well.
