    Default Levi needs a Heads-Up

I'm here on the East Coast, I don't know Levi.

Maybe one of you West Coast guys know Levi.
Could you give him a call. Tell him in a kind way, you know not to disturb him too much...

Levi, go away. You are a fraud like your pal and mentor, L-----.

    Leipheimer:

    F Levi.

i could fill page after page on all the junk i have done wrong in my life on this forum, but it's not about me or that.

we are commenting on an athlete* that purposely cheated to win bike races and make a name for himself so he could make more money.
he states that he loves cycling and racing so much. well, if that is the case, love requires sacrifice and maybe, just maybe he may need to sacrifice the one or two years he thinks he still posses to walk away and stay away from the sport. By doing that, he can help it heal from what he and others like him have done to it.

OK, stone cast. I hope it hits Levi in his tiny balls. I've never taken EPO, HGH, or T to win a bike race, or otherwise. So in the context of this particular subject, I am without sin.

I'm not surprised you guys are bashing Levi for using PED's, to me it's meh......but after reading the Crawford stuff, about how he coached Levi for free for a few years because Levi didn't have the money, then took all the risks getting the stuff for him, only to be dropped when Levi hit the big time....well, that really sets me off! You want to be a cheater, well OK, that's your call...but a lack of loyalty? No effing way are you any good in my book.

I'm frankly surprised Hyman Roth hasn't chimed in about this....we all know what he would have done with little Levi.

Think of all the pack fodder that cheated and never won.....

PED's is just part of the kit used to race. It won't change.

I don't have to think about it. I line up among it throughout the season.
It may NOT change. But the more that comes to light and the perception of even needing it to just hang in may change.

Former pack fodder here who never cheated and never won, except a local TT once, but that doesn't really count.

Not everyone cheats, but yeah it does seem to be the norm today. I work with people who cheat all the time. I work for in an industry where the companies cheat all the time.

Sadly, we do live in a world where in some things it's not what's right or wrong, but rather what you can get away with.

Levi had become sort of a big thing in his adopted community in Sonoma County, establishing a gran fondo, promoting Santa Rosa as an ATOC town. The community is growing cycling strong. It is sad in that Levi may have slipped into the same trap that _______ ________ did: my good works will sustain my legacy in spite of the methods employed to get there.

At some point between Lance Armstrong and Motoman, the fury against doping says more about the fan than the athlete. Not sure where exactly Levi lands.

It says more about societies fixation with pro sports and the adulation of sports heroes. I can not be bothered trying to have a discussion about ethics or morality in pro sports or its participants. The fans are just a reflection of society.

I'm of the mind that people make mistakes, are capable of coming to the understanding that they
did things that were wrong, and live to regret those things. That said, even Bill Clinton realized
(or was told) that you really need to disappear for a while and figure your shit out if you want
to have a popular return from shame. They call it a 'comeback' because first you need to 'go away'.

Or you could pick folks like Stan Musial. What a guy, who just happened to be one of the greatest ever.
