Default its the amazing hot wrench

It slices, it dices, it loves you when no one else will.

Being from florida I don't have to endure much relay cold wether so there's no heat in my wear house. Well, last Wed. it was 22 when I got to the shop. It didn't seam to get much higher as the day went on either. My buddie Mike turned me on to this wrench trick. For anyone that has to endure long cold days in the shop holding it its truly wonderful. Just thought I'd share.

Neato, I haven't seen a metric crescent wrench in ages.

When I was a kid I worked in a retail shop that had the typical back room work area. The boss was CHEAP and would turn down the thermostat for the shop space every time he walked by. We would then turn it back up and it went up and down all day, every day.

One day the wise old shop guy Pete unhooked the thermostat and wired up a toggle switch for the heater out of the way so the boss wouldn't see it. The boss would walk by and hear the heat running and see us not wearing our winter jackets at our bench and turn down the thermostat - which of course did nothing at all. We'd turn it back up just to eff with him. The place was finally warm enough to work in.

I heard the boss found the switch a few years after I left. I'll bet there were some choice words uttered.

    Good times.

The shop (Rochester, NY) that I learned (the first time) to build was heated by two wood stoves. The entire building (two store fronts and two second floor apartments) was wood heated too. We would stick a screwdriver in the toilet flapper to keep it running all night long to stave off frozen pipes. Boy that was one cold seat in the mornings! My boss had run an air hose to the sidewalk and one morning the shop was warmer then usual because the side walk plow had cut the hose and the compressor ran all night...
