I'm quite satisfied with 85 or so. Do folks run more?
assuming of course you use a mushy fork and rides XC.

I run a 120 fork. It does help with the big unexpected stuff.
I've been running zero.
0 or 100. But the 100 is Terralogic, so it's only squishy when it needs to be.
90, but I'm going 100 soon.
My chest is aching, burns like a furnace
the burning keeps me alive
Travel adjustable externally 120-80 29" custom.

100mm here. Good enough for the bigger hits but not so much I wallow around. I do have a rigid bike that I use as well for a reality check.
My experience is in regard to 29ers:
Typically, I run zero, but this summer had me riding around on the bosses Stumpy EVO hardtail and I liked the 100mm fork quite a bit. Having gears for the first time in 8 years was sort of cool too, and may have influenced my overall judgement of the bike.
Ride a Cannondale Flash 29er with an 80mm Lefty up front. It was plenty for Leadville and plenty for anything I encounter here in NoVa.
The worse my vision gets the more travel I need, I'm currently running 100mm (SID 29'r) but honestly the only time i really unlock it is on psycho speed gravel descents. On normal single track downs I just let the blow by take the heat.
Rigid and 100.
But I see a slack head angle 120mm sled in my future.
120 front and back.
GO!
100 for me
100 for me. I'm trying to run less air pressure, more damping.
Rigid and 80 Terralogic. Anywhere and everywhere. (29)

a sweet deal on a 130mm fork had me thinkin' of revamping my design for the my next ATB.
probably won't. five inches up front and zero rear just seems wasteful.
i tried rigid when i first started SSing...too many changes all at once, and i don't like using brakes, so i takes a little extra cushion.
but it's time for me to try this new gen of sussy forks. (and axles)
Rigid for 90% of what I do but the default 90mm of a lefty (29) for the other 10%.
