help removing grease from

This is a first for me. Yesterday I was helping a friend adjust his front fender at the bike shop before our ride. He is notorious for rarely cleaning or maintaining his bikes. I got a glom of dirty bike grease on the sleeve of my wool jersey. Any recommendations on how to remove the grease and preserve the wool jersey. It is a long sleeve Woolistic.

Try using shampoo for oily hair...rub it in with your fingers and repeat...I wouldn't get to vigorous with the scrubbing, but let the shampoo do the work with repeated applications.

I work as an engineer in a manufacturing plant and I end up with grease on my clothes a few times a week. If it's small, I spray Oxyclean on it and it breaks up the grease. If it's larger, I use Dawn dishwashing detergent. Oil spill teams use Dawn to clean wildlife, it'll probably be good on wool.

once I leaned over my bike to adjust somethign and the white sleev of my wool jersey nicely wiped my RD.

I had to gently scrub it with "shout" and wash it several times. it took awhile, but no more grease.

Soak the stain in Lestoil, then wash in cold water. Lestoil is getting harder to find, I usually see it in hardware stores.

Harth has some great instructions for washing on his (WabiWoolens) site. Dawn or similar detergent is good to start with.
Being the nice guy he is, I'm pretty sure he'd respond to a pm or email for grease stain-specific advice, too.
