    Default F#ck Yeah

Three years or more ago, after a dinner more remarkable for its drinks than food - being it Italy, this speak volumes - we decided it was wise to head to the workshop for some grappa. Somewhere during the next few hours, I was measured and formally put my name in the que. I had decided many years prior that I wanted a frame. There was no question of which. That night, it just became a matter of when.

I left the color up to the builder. I mentioned a religious theme, and when he thought on it and suggested it might come back with "Porco Dio" along the top-tube, I knew I left the choice in the right hand.

Today I received this. I've had (have) plenty of bikes, but very few cement themselves as lifetime bikes - and no other, so quickly.

    Grazie Mille, Dario!

(Shitty pictures, of course, do not do it justice - but its all I had time to snap).

Yup - its solid white, just like the body (which actually is like a grey tinted white, more than a pure/clean white).

Get off the computer and start building. You are delaying your riding time.

Time for my favorite question. What kind of build will it get?

Spare cash is a little scare these days - I'm renovated a new house and this was a little unexpected if that makes sense after a three year wait.

I'll likely strip my Ridley Helium for its Record 11 gruppo. Add a Deda carbon or PMP post and Zero 100 bar/stem. Vittoria tubs on Boras for most rides, a set of Nemesis/Record/FMB wheels for my favorite backroads. White tape/saddle.

The unexpected part makes perfect sense.

I got measured up for a frame, and never heard back from the dealer or Gita or anyone else about a deposit. A few months later the news came about about Dario's illness and I thought " oh well, guess I will not get it now, he has other things to think about"

About 2.5 years after that I get an email from Gita North saying, hey your frame and fork are here ...

    I had forgotten about it.

My situation was a little different. I worked very closely with Gita in a past life - they're good people - and told them the priority was on real customers first. I knew it was in the works - it wasn't so much a question of if, as much as when. Couldn't think of a better way to get such a beautiful frame.

REALLY nice - congrats! Your planned build sounds great too. Is it a MXXXXXO/Marcelo?

That frame showed up in workshop pics a few monhs ago(I think), and I was in awe.
    Nothing has changed.

    Congrats and enjoy.

Its a Responsorium. Only difference is the fork, which was in development when I placed my order.

Nice. Under the eye-popping paint, I love the spartan purposefullness of his work. As S. White called them; Super Legit.

Odd - for me, when drinks outshine the food, I end up making very poor decisions.

Not so in your case. Congrats on the delivery.
