ebay find - snakeskin regal with Al rails??

What's up with these rails? Maybe I've never seen this before because they all broke. I kinda want it bad though.

and I mean identical! I have never seen another and I love it! I use Regals on a few bikes and they are great, but the snakeskin and the light brown nose patch take the cake! The rails are heavy, but they work with most posts.

I have a similar one sitting in a box that has a ridge on the rails that doesn't allow it to sit on some seatposts (my Campy carbon one to be exact.) EDIT: I see that this one is one of the finicky ones with the ridges. They will work on most seatposts, I imagine, just not on all of them. There's your warning!

Other than that, they are a slightly heavier version of the originals. Apparently the rails cannot be replaced, should you be thinking of putting standard rails on it.
