Page 59 has a neat article about a drug rehabilitation facility in Italy, called San Patrignano, where residents learn (among other things) to create beautiful bicycle frames from steel, aluminum, carbon, and bamboo. There is an inset on pg. 60 about Dario, who's shop is in the valley below. Dario's brother, Gianni, now works with the residents of San Patrignano and directs the shop full-time. Since 2004, he's been working in collaboration w/the University of Trento in carbon fiber production. (As a side note, this is why Dario's latest frames all have his full name on them, rather than just 'Pegoretti', as that represented both Dario & Gianni). San Patrignano primarily builds bikes for other brands, including Carrera's top road model, the carbon Phibra, but they do build 30-50 bikes per year that bear their name. In short, this facility sounds like a really neat, progressive place and from the sounds of it, the products & services their residents turn out certainly sound appealing. Check out the article.
