    WHoa! before I even look at the rest, picture number four is so cool, must be shot from a helicopter moving the same speed as the riders, It makes the bystanders look like they are the ones moving while standing still. I have never noticed that effect before. wow.

    sweet pics. sucks that mine never look as good. the bokeh combined with heat diffraction in pic 8 is neat.

    I don't mean to burst your bubble, but the photog probably just climbed up the slope a bit, slowed his shutter speed down and panned with the riders as he tripped the shutter.

    That doesn't make the picture any less good, though.

    OK, how about: photographer suspends himself by a rope from a giant tripod, uses a laser rangefinder to gauge the approach speed of the peloton, then adjusts the rope length so the period of the human pendulum matches the peloton's rate. Then he times the swing so that he's moving in the same direction as the riders as they pass.

    I bet he needed at least 3 assistants for that.
