Writing the book one saga at a time. Here is the latest :

RadioShack-Nissan Rules Out WorldTour Races For Fuglsang | Cyclingnews.com

Fuglsang represented on of his last troops capable of getting some real results for the sponsors. The guy lost the weight he needed to be a contender in grand tours; now this...

The points system in the game has a real negative effect- talk about negative racing.

A total diss-functional team- If I was the head of Radio Whack I would be pissed...but then again I am probably more worried about paying my bills since I am under investigation for some sort of white collar crime of tax evasion.

Title still in the works:"We might as well sit our best rider on the bench...."

Pretty good (as usual) exposition here:

inrng : riders blocked from racing

    atmo the effed up system for allocating UCI points is at least partly to blame;
teams don't like the departing rider racking up points for the new team.

Vaughters apparently tweeted that if he were running Liquigas, Nibali wouldn't be riding the Tour.
    'Course Team Radio Snack has other issues . . . ("Why Johnny Can't Manage" . . .)

Bruyneel has been exposed for the fraud that he is. not being able to run a team w/out robots running on the dope du jour

re: Vaughters- he's right. Nibali isn't doing anything and he has promised his heart to another. F-'em!

    Who is Hogg?

I wonder if Fuglsang can sue the team for this?

What a vindictive asshole...sort of sheds some new light on all of the "coincidences" of great riders leaving his team and then testing positive...at the worst possible times....

I wouldn't bring dope into it, but, with a leader like Lance or Bertie It makes f**k all difference who's driving the team car

Oooooh. Conspiracy theories. Now this is getting interesting. :->

Actually, not to defend Johan or anything, but how is holding out Fuglsang any different, really, than holding out Nibali?

By the way, I cannot understand Nibali leaving such an Italian oriented team as Liquigas, especially as it appears to
be reasonably well run. Especially to Astana. I understand Basso may be the top dog there now, at least for the Giro.
But he ain't gonna be around forever, and Neebs is pretty young still. Must be some pretty deep rift between him and management.

This is the Thor argument from a season or two ago -- rider bitches, practically out the door, then wants something for nothing from current team. Fuck him. JB is just being marionetted by upstairs. Fuglsang is the guy on that team after Andy, but circumstances...

Makes me think of the Sky Jaguars pounding over the pavé at Paris-Roubaix.... Yeah, it would be pretty cool to see Johann Bruyneel in a cowboy hat, cigar and a white suit at the wheel of a Nissan 370Z cabriolet shouting instructions to a rider climbing an Alp with VIP guest Lance Armstrong riding shotgun. The question is which one is Boss Hogg and which one is Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane.

something for nothing? how is that so?

he is an in form rider, prepared to compete on a high level at the most prestigious event in all of cycling, in his sponsor's kit.

you think nissan or radio shack give a fuck about how many uci points he might get?

In 10 days Horner just went from not riding the Tour, to "gregario de luxe" to co-leader.

I don't know how the rules work. Apparently a rider carries his points with him to the next team. But does, for example, a team also continue to carry the points a rider accumulates? If Frank Schleck leaves RadioShack for another team next season he carries his Tour de Suisse points with him I guess. Does RadioShack also keep these points or are they lost to the team.

    I ask because I don't know.

"So if Fuglsang were win points this year, they would count for RadioShack this season but also for whatever team he is with next year."

I thin they added this rule recently because before that, points would count only for the new team.

Fuglsang made himself a dead man walking. JB and the leadership did right thing here. However JB did create the environment for him to say such things which ultimate hurts everyone involved.

In the larger scope JB ain't a very good leader.

Fuggie bitches, yet wants his back scratched -- fuck him. There's no logic to this team, there is no concentration on accumulating points for next season, there is no future.

    This apocalypse is now.
