    Adding 2 bolts in the split block (the none removable part of course) so it does not have the ability to move in relation to the extension (which will also get bolts).

    You are grounded from using the tools until you learn how to take care of them!

    Seriously though, dust is abrasive and abrasives are not good for mating surfaces. Pledge is your friend. I prefer the lemon scented myself and yes, Pledge works great on the fixtures. No lubricants allowed on any fixture that sees Ti frames.
