Yeah I know on a forum that represents some of the best hand-built bikes and some top carbon bike manufacturers why put up a Specialized section. I downgraded from my Serotta HSG IT and bought this frame. I'm glad to report the Specialized is super stiff but you don't feel all of the road all the time it s actually fairly comfortable on longer rides. It feels like every ounce of energy I put into the pedals is not wasted. All in all is a great bike and while it's no Serotta I would highly recommend this ride.
This is the 2010 Tarmac Pro model BTW. Which supposedly is the old SL2.

Looks worthy. Just a question - why did you get rid of the Serotta? I own a couple and have always wondered about the HSG models. They pop up on the 'Bay sometimes at very good prices.

But that Specialized looks like a properly thought out tool for a job. Nice.

I kinda just wanted something different. If it were up to me I would keep the Serotta and build it up slowly with Campy 11, but I have a kid on the way so it needs to go. It is actually still for sale I need to get rid of it.

I will join in on this one by saying that I have a Tarmac SL-2 and I love it. Bought it with some hesitation, mostly to get a good deal on Di2, and it has become my favorite bike. Very responsive while still being comfortable enough for me.. Pondering getting an SL3 frameset..

Uggghhh Di2. I rode a trek 6.9 madone with Di2 at a demo and that stuff is awesome. People talk shit about it but it's the future, once it comes down in price it will be like going from 9 to 10 speed or 11. How about a pic?

Here is my Langster commuter bike. Tried an EC90sl fork to trouble shoot a nasty creek in the headset and just figured why not... Otherwise, say what you will, but every component has been hand picked to ensure a quick and seamless transition from riding to campus to sitting in class.
(couldn't find a commuter thread, so i dropped it here, tho it might not belong. If one of the nice VS admins wanna move it, please do.)

Been racing on SL2's for 3 years now- great race bikes, and available pretty cheap used from SL3 upgraders.

Picked up the frame and fork back in '05 and slowly gathered the parts for the build. It took about 4 years to complete, pretty embarrassing, but I had a multitude of distractions.
I love this bike, it handles like a fighter jet.
