Ummm, this isn't quite like facebook or frameforum. We're not necessarily looking for people to come here to advertise or self promote without participating in the community. Posting a bunch of pics of your stuff seems a little craigs-list-ish.
My apologies! This site is completely new to me and that was my first post. It looks like a lot of other builders started their own galleries which is why I did the same. How about some direction as to where I should post? My intention IS to participate and contribute to the community which is what I thought I was doing, I just really don't know my way around this site yet. What is the best way to start?
No need to get scruffy. Believe it or not, some people today, even young people don't spend as much time on the internet as all of us forum slaves, and are therefore, like barbarians at the gate.
Niall is rad. He is literally next door to us(and he has great taste in music... bigger speakers than us too), and has built some really, really kickass frames that have carried the Spooky name in the past.
I will go give him a lashing for being SOOO uncouth...
(all sarcasm is friendly and intended in this post).
Thanks for joining dude! Now we can talk about the internets around the beer!

If suspect vouches then it's all good. I've just seen the grief given to first time posters in the classifieds section and was doing the same. Welcome, I look forward to your contributions in the future. As a framebuilder, you should PM a moderator and post some pics of your work to the FNL section.
Oh yeah, sorry about being gruff. I ran into work this morning...running will do that to a guy.
Hey Niall- welcome aboard.
Do you know a squirrely little guy named Chase? I used to work with him in SLC and I think he mentioned knowing you.
In any event, have fun on the VS.

p.s. welcome to the vsalon. looking forward to seeing some more of your frames.

Nice looking shop, I catch myself thinking of western mass as the promised land when the cars and people and expense of the metropolis around boston get me down.

Niall, your bikes look really small ;) Welcome and keep an eye peeled for Friday Night Lights where builders post pics of this and that.
Peas, TT.
I'm taking the liberty of posting Nialls flickr gallery for him.

Because I just can't avoid the internet when I am on the phone!

ten pushups for the dubious beer choice.
so do you and mikey at spooky share a work space or what?
Hey Eric- I do know Chase!
Still haven't figured out how to load pictures that fit the size limit but don't end up ridiculously small! Tiny, tiny bikes for very small people.
MBudd- Thanks for the compliment on the shop! I just moved in a little over two months ago and its been really great! I had been working as a student and then after graduating as staff at this shop: www.hampshire.edu/lemelson/ they are the great folks who let me get started in framebuilding. Then a few months ago I moved into another space and spent two months or so setting it up only to have the whole thing fall apart. The company I was subletting from went bankrupt all before I could produce anything in there (ouch)- Its very nice to be in my new home!
MIN- I'll do the pushups in the name of fitness, but that is THE King of Beers you're talking about. At least it wasn't Bud Light right? Spooky is totally separate- they are my neighbors and between the two of us and New England Bicycle Consulting (www.nebikeconsulting.com) we have a cool little bike community all in the same building.
Thanks for the welcomes and I look forward to getting to know you all!
negatory. I am in suite #58. Niall is #60.
We do share Beer though. Budweiser is actually surprisingly good. Freaking great at 5:30, that's for sure...
PS...

That's where all the thinking outside the box action came from around here...
Does your Alma Mater have undergraduates developing the entrepreneurship, design and fabrication skills necessary to launch successful fabrication and design businesses? Ours does...
And we seem to have a pot leaf as a logo.
Western Ma rules!
(oh geez, I posted the exact same thing as Niall. I blame the Patriarchy)

Some kind of caustic reaction happens when any of my Budd-Kin go for the Bud-King of beers that we scottish lineage Budds can't stomach. I love super chilled cheap swill beer when the moments right but the weird sweetness of Budweiser and the Jamaican version Red Stripe never sits right.
