    Merlin titanium bicycles are sweet.
They and their owner, ABG, have been rather quiet.
Looking forward to more news from them!!

By the way, those Campagnolo Shamals look great on that titanium frame.

The only thing I have left of this one are some great memories and the for sale pics.

I LOVE THAT FRAME!! And that ones a few years old with the very fancy lugs. The more recent cielos had the straight cut lugs and in my opinion made the frame look less appealing. That thing is just beautiful. Before I got my extralight i was watching an auction for that exact frame but it quickly grew out of my price range. I believe it sold for like $2300 or so. I got my extralight for a steal. It was from the original owner with less than 100 miles on it for $750. Can't beat that with a bat.

    A buddy's bike.

Unfortunately, it hardly gets used these days. He now lives in Chicago and the conditions are really not favorable for riding. His time there is up in a year or so - hopefully then he'll move to greener pastures and get back on the bike.

Thanks! There are a few unconventional points on this build... orange tape, tires and pedals add a little splash, imho. the miche seatpost is an eyegrabber too. also... though I know the DA rings are better than Ultegra rings. I prefer the look of the Ultegra rings so I threw those on there and have the DA's as a backup.

    'dat team-issue bar-wrap..

(please excuse the mix-match of training and racing wheels, currently replacing the cassette on the rear training wheel, hence riding on that race-tubular)

Not much on here for merlins. Here's one I picked up as a shop demo out of cycles Bikyle. I think he still has one left that is not painted.

Seems like there wasn't much love in the public opinion for these CR works frames after merlin was aquired by ABC or something? Anyhow, I conferred with Tom Kellogg before buying this and he spoke highly of the design and construction. One of the last great 'production' Ti bikes he said. Most of what you get now from a custom builder like himself will not differ much other than aesthetic choices and custom sizing. The seamless tubes on these are butted, swagged and shaped to generate the best ride out of the given sizes.

Currently built with ultegra and shod with a set of nemesis/dura ace wheels it is a magic carpet ride. I guess we're all still waiting for Brendan at CC to re-launch the marque...

agreed; here ya go. Not professional, but this is how it looks sitting behind me in my office. I took out a filing cabinent and added this two-bike stand. I think the place looks much better now.
