    Default Kelly Bedford Bikes

This one belongs to Queen. This is a fendered bike designed for long reach binders, steel fork and compact gearset.

She will be used for darn near anything from commuting to dirt road hammering and with fenders off hard training. The bike is a very very close match to her fav. race bike. Her first impression was "WOW this feel just like my Pegoretti!". The fit and setup are infact "just like her Pegoretti", which fits like a glove too.

I could not be more pleased with the communication and professionalism of Kelly Bedford. Kelly worked me like a rented mule to get her dimensions spot on.

Details about what this bike should consist of were mostly Kelly's own with myself only saying what brakeset we wanted and a fondness for that grooooovy pearl white color ooooo la la. The Tiara idea we sorta hatched together and omg I was floored to see the carved lugs he is well known for. Elegant and creative without seeming contrived is how I'd describe the overall look of the lugs.

The bike is unique and so very very cherished already by the Mrs. who is chomping at the bit to get this bike on the road.

This is the last time you'll see it clean and dent free. Sad ain't it?

    Thanks for looking.

    Awesome.

I love the look (and idea) of the Paul brakes- do you have any opinion on the difference b/w the post-mount and center-mount versions?

    Very sweet bicycle...
Also, were the Paul brakes chosen for their compatibility with the fenders and potentially wider tires?
Does Queen simply prefer performance of the Paul brakes compared to sidepulls? Curious minds wish to know!

To answer Robin and Blue Jay....there is no diff. between the ctr. mounts and post mounts in function. A compelling reason for some folks using these is that they are very well suited to retrofit 700c wheels on old 27" frames and / or putting 650b wheels on a 700c frame.

I picked them because they will easily fit fat tyres, the look is outstanding and you can unleash the straddle cable easily for wheel change nto to mention modulation and power of these brakes are some of the best of any and I mean ANY brake I've ever used. Lots of brakes are this good when the pads are new. Once the brake pads start to wear and geometry changes, many brakesets performance degrade...not these :) Good to the last drop...of brakepad!

This thread makes me (1) glad I'm in KB's queue and (2) even more impatient to get to the front of same. Oh, and (3) consider centerpulls for when I do.

    Good stuff.

    So does TooTall. :)

Love the overall look of the bike. Especially like the lugs and the pearl white/decal choice- Subtle and elegant. The lugs look just right. Not too ornate-blend in perfectly. Great choice of fenders.

May the Queen enjoy many miles of safe cycling on this K. Bedford beauty.

Is Sully in line for the next bike? 2 sets of pedals?

Yo Bamby, the new pup is not impressed with her bike. For him the world is composed of: things that feed and scratch me, other.

Queen had her first good hard ride last eve. Two hrs. of hills, intervals and tempo. Her words "the bike is perfect, stable and smoooooth". More words "it really is a compliment (for Kelly) to get onto a brand new bike, go for a ride and have such a good experience".

    Bedford nailed it.

Wow. Absolutely stunning velo- this is the Marlene Dietrich of bicycles, strong, classy blonde, no nonsense, no need for extraneous makeup, breathtaking dressed up or down. I'm blessed/cursed with fitting well to most stock bicycles in 56cm, so I've never been able to really justify a custom, but maybe it's time to start saving and paring the fleet way down for something like that to ride most of the time. Thanks for sharing, made my morning. I'm in the DC area, hope to see it up close some time.
