These are from a bike I "reworked" 3 years ago for a fun winter time project:
most everything shined up by dazza, connor, or bohm. some recently posted at "lugs" thread. to truly appreciate mirror-stainless, one must do a piece or two. and yeah, i'm working on it. almost had a full-polish ti bike once-but the option was discontinued that year...iirc the price was $100 extry. crazy cheap.
i think dazza wore out three rags wiping the fingerprints and drool off his shiny bits at portland nahbs.![]()
I thought a revisit from my Ellis was in order on this subject.
A DA 9 speed crank that I stripped & polished...still recovering from that project...
And a little something else (not mine, but from a VSalon builder who sent me this pic...which occasionally has been my screen background. Refreshing!)...

vanilla chainstay - shiny!![]()
Retrotec with a bunch of White Industries stuff, Salsa rims, Formula brakes, and some Engin stuff...
I've polished a number of components for my classic (modern) build based on a Southwest Frameworks frame built with webbed lugs...
Missing are photos of my stripped and polished kinlin xr200 rims.

perhaps it was simply luck but I was careful to use a dilute de-anodizing solution (from jestco) and check on the parts often. The graphics on the crank were more substantial than some. The logos on the brake calipers came off quite fast. The cranks polished up quite quickly by hand using simichrome. Only the backside of the arms (which aren't as well finished) and the rings required use of white compound and an electric drill. Find a beat up old crank in the LBS junk heap and give it a try, you'll be surprised how quickly it shines up with mag wheel polish
Notice that the shifters are reflected in both the lug and the paint- high polish x2.

Cinelli Milano Handlebar Stem - I had the old chrome stripped, had it re-polished and chromed.
Before:-
After:-
Zeus 'Gigante' Large Flange Rear Hub - These Zeus hubs have been re-polished and naturally anodised to give them a new lease of life.

When you photograph yourself photographing your hubs, you know they have a nice shine.

"I think I know what military fame is; to be killed on the field of battle and have your name misspelled in the newspapers."
These ones haven't made it onto frames yet, but they still sit on my desk, imploring me to solder them:
Oh, and there's my stem:

Here are some of the parts I polished so far:
