    DeSalvo

I thought I would share my new DeSalvo with everyone. This is my first foray into the world of custom steel and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. The inspiration for the frame comes from my son who was born back in October. I wanted to celebrate his birth and pay a fitting tribute to his awesomeness by having the frame built and his name painted on the top tube. Mike DeSalvo is perhaps the most underrated builder out there and was spectacular to work with and an all round cool guy. The ride, needless to say, is beyond sublime and the bike, as a whole, is beautiful to behold. Hope the pics work as I am a bit of a luddite.
    Cheers
    Jay

    Jay,

I really like the bike, congrats.

Baby boy is pretty cute too.

    BUT,

    here's the important question ..............

Where did you get the baseboards and corner molding pieces???

BTW - I'm leaving in here in about an hour for a dinner in your fair town.

Well *I* like it -- a lot. So there. :)

I especially love the rims. I believe in silver, and decal-free. They are very classy, IMO.

thank you for the kind words...
ericpmoss: the wheels are kinlins (xr270s) laced to WI H2 hubs...I love their neo-retro look and they ride quite well.
TMB: the woodwork all came with the house...the guy who built this place is a half contractor-half artist with a great eye for detail. FYI...the floor is the recycled gym floor from Summerland Secondary School...
where did you dine? Italian Kitchen? The Phoenix? Ecclectic Med?

  12. Re: DeSalvo

Very nice there. Nice to look down every once in a while when riding to see mini-Jay tribute too I am sure. Good job.

Love what appear to be some nice corner pieces, any additional pics of those would be appreciated.

I have a full wood shop so I can make anything I like.

Dinner tonight is at the Med. We have the whole place - we do this 4 times per year, all of the bankruptcy lawyers and trustees in the interior get together for dinner and a "press the flesh" session. We usually go to Phoenix, but for my money, prefer the Med.

BTW - nice bike. I hope to ewatch it ride away from me soon.

Did you register for the OSCR century out of Armstrong on May 30?

Love the Med...superior dining experience to the Phoenix.
Unfortunately, I won't be making it to Armstrong this year...we take possession of our new house that weekend so I'm going to be a wee busy
I'll email you some additional corner piece pics and specs to you ASAP

First off, I love this bike. Meaningful too, and obviously can be passed on to the little guy some day.
