Post your be-fendered commuter bikes, your lights, your tights, your studded tires. Bonus points for panda portraits taken from the saddle.
This is my old commuter . . .

VERY funky and unconventional, but i love this darn thing...Hopre the pic works
And here is my current commuter . . . a Rivendell 650B (Thanks, Curt!).
The commute is 14 miles round trip and I lug my stuff in a Banjo Brothers backpack. I'm waiting for a new SonDelux and Edelux combo, but I'm loving my new zzzzBAM! Radbot in the back. Cars hate me.

Woah.
Fun rig, it's like a swiss army knife.

I thought we might get some interesting responses, given the crowd that hangs out here. Almost like asking the Formula racing forum about their daily drivers. These aren't your Dutch city bikes. I like the fact that every bike posted so far looks like it could commute, rando, or tour with the best. Except maybe Old&Slow who apparently hits a few BMX ramps on the way to the office. ;-)
endo shi . . . we need more details and photos fo your Seven Cafe Racer! I tore Flickr apart looking for your photo albums. What an amazing bike - you obviously gave it some thought. Looks like you even customized the Riv bag by trimming up the leather, no? Have to ask, is it perfect or whould you change anything?
IMO in addition to function the most important thing about a commuter bike is that it makes you want to ride it.
(That's awesome endo)

I appreciate the compliments. Yes, over 2 years of collective passive thought have gone into this. All my favorite parts have gone into it too: Campy 10 non-QS carbon shifters, Alpina cranks, Record alloy hubs, Ambrosio clinchers to name a few. The Riv bag is not custom, but it might be a proto. I got it from my buddy who works at Harris Cyclery.
Is it perfect? No, it's never perfect, but this is damn close.
Stupidly sold this one when I downsized to one cross frame. In the process of rectifying my mistake by building up a NOS 2007 Kona Jake. It'll look just like this but blue, with the steel Kona fork. Pics to come once my cx season ends and I swap the parts. Trying to see when Planet Bike's new bamboo fenders will be available- they've got some concavity to them, unlike most flat wood/bamboo fenders.
42x16, ENO wheelset- fun stuff.
PS- that Seven is nuts! Some people say you should commute on something cheap and crappy, but when its truly a car replacement, and you're putting thousands of miles a year on it, I say get whatever you can afford that makes you happy.
My four-seasons all-conditions commuter, an '06 Trek Portland, shown here wearing its studded snow tires and wider winter fenders

When I wear it out, I'll have a Vsalonista make its replacement out of either Ti or stainless.
Three-seasons alternate commuter.
Yes, that's a new Wound Up fork on an 11-year-old bottom-of-the-line Trek 1000. Compliments of the guy who hit us with his Pontiac.
All my other bikes commute too, but only on fair-weather mid-week days when there's nothing to haul.
my commuter:
That is one classy ride, brunop.
My Belgian Bomber...fully dressed for fall, winter and spring commute (in the summer I'll lose the dyno hub/lights and put on a 25mm PR2s). Flawless welds and paint, Co-Motion makes a great all-rounder.

Just finished. NOS Kona Jake, with parts off my Van Dessel.

The P2 fork is an overbuilt piece of work, but it's comfortable and provides for no brake shudder whatsoever.
Going to get some fuller coverage fenders after the holidays.
