    Default Baum Cycles

A thread for Baum Cycles pictures.

Baum Cycles are made by Darren Baum in Geelong, Victoria, Australia - they are well known for their custom geometry Titanium frames and high quality paint finishes, all completed in house in their facilities in Geelong.

I started this thread because I am a happy customer after I got my bike this week!

So, I'll start with pictures and specs of mine!

Professional pictures supplied by Baum: (as seen in FNL)

(A detail of the seat tube during painting - the logo from my graphic design business - my name also...)

I guess you'd say "my dream bike!" - a solid racer that is "just right"...

    Baum Corretto
    Custom geometry Titanium
Hand built in Geelong by Darren Baum @ Baum Cycles
Hand Painted in Geelong by Jared @ Baum Cycles
Colors - GTA Style - 4 colors... Metallic white, black, blood orange and silver...

    Edge 1.0 Fork
    Tune Bobo headset
    Campagnolo Super Record 11
    172.5mm cranks 53/39 front
    Super Record 23-11 rear
    Ciamello Gravita carbon brakes
Deda Zero100 Servizio Course 120mm stem custom painted - GTA style
    Deda Newton Shallow bars 440mm
Deda Super Zero Carbon seat post - de-logoed...
Fizik Microtex - black "buffed" tape
    Fizik Arione Carbon Braided saddle
Lightweight Standard 3 "Black Edition Special" Carbon tubulars
    Lightweight skewers - carbon/Ti
    Continental Competition Black Chili tyres
King Ti cages in custom "brushed" finish

Pedals are Dura-Ace, but I have Speedplay Zero Ti pedals to go with my new shoes when they arrive...

6.6kg with pedals as you see...

It is seriously SMOOTH! I have no complaints... I have the pro photos to come when Baum send them to me! They will be better!

Enjoy the pictures while I am out enjoying the ride![/b]

Thanks for the comments! I love it! I've been riding it every day except yesterday because I was at work all day. I set out for work today and dad called me and told me to have the morning off! So I did 85km!

The Gravitas are pretty good. Better than my Zero G Ti on my other bike. I thought they'd be pretty ace, but I have had a bit of trouble with my back one having a real bite... its good enough though, and I'm not going to ride crits on it!

    Most importantly they look cool!

I still need to get around to taking some decent photos but until then this will have to do...

A new Corretto to replace a destroyed Ristretto (hence the 7800):

I'm really liking this one. I like the restraint. I like the use of the oldie but goldie 7800. And I really like the mural too!

First post, and even the first thread I've viewed - having just got off the phone to Darren & Jared to thank them for this amazing creation i thought I'd post this here straight away on Jared's recommendation.

As I built it up myself in the UK Baum weren't able to get the full bike shots done so I've got professional shots being done at the weekend - I'll post more when I have them.

    For now...

Nothing makes that purple 'pop' the way it does in bright sunlight though, it's a stunning colour and overall finish.

Baum Corretto - Ti, custom geometry, ISP & PressFit30
    Edge 1.0 fork
    Lightweight Standard C, black edition
    Di2
    EE Brakes

Zipp Countour SL short & shallow bars
    Tune Bobo headset
Custom bar tape by Mick Peel of Busyman Cycles (hand stitched, hand punched with purple stitch)
    Vertebr.ae ZTA brake cables
