    Default 1986 Specialized Allez SE

    Three weeks ago I bought a 1986 Specialized Allez SE from geoffk. I was looking for a bike that would compliment my more modern ride. It just so happened that 1986 was the year I began road cycling so I felt this was kismet. I broke the bike down a week or two ago and decided what to keep and what to toss/replace. I bought a few items that would appear period correct without interfering with the original aesthetic. Other bits needed to be replaced either due to wear or because I didn't want to suffer discomfort. Below are the before and after pics...

    Geoff - I decided to let the Allez go. I'm going to look for something slightly smaller and steel that's a bit more modern.
