as the price list says, there are no signs. However, I figured that there weren't too many farms in the area surrounded by big piles of tubes. Nice folks.

And, if you live 10,000 miles away, and you fax them an order, your order actually arrives where you want it to!
Seriously though, the need email, badly. Faxes are cute and all, but who has time these days for 'cute' when it comes to making frames?
Just call em up, or send a fax. I'd rather take the time to do that then have an email go unanswered.

I read somewhere, (here maybe) that they prefered that you buy in full length, I'm ok with that but my question is; do they cut to length for you to make shipping cheaper? or what sort of lenths are you having shipped and at what type of cost.?
Thanks,
Jake
if you tell them you'll take drops, then you get the 1 length price. Considering the longest I needed any tubes was a little over 2', I figured I could take drops. That was one advantage of visiting.
I think he told me that almost all of their tubes are 19' long.
I've never ordered for shipment, but if you order a full length they will cut it to fit a UPS package. If you wanted the cut tubes to be all 6' long, I don't see why they wouldn't do that. My understanding is that people are happy with the shipping.
Their price list says up to 24' for a full length. My cut list had 24' on it just to estimate how much it was going to cost me, and that's when he told me most of the tubes were 19'
They take the random mill cut length (18' - 24') and chop it up for you. I usually get 8' length's because that's the longest they can ship with extra charges. The shipping is very reasonable, and the tubing prices are very, very good.
I recently got some 5/16" x 035 at less than $2 per foot, including the shipping. That's less than half of what some places are charging, before shipping.
To answer one of the questions above, yes, if you get an 18' mill cut length they will cut it into two 8' chunks and a 2' chunk. You will be shipped all three pieces.
Alistair.
Yeah, because faxes never get lost, and phone orders never get forgotten about.
Hey, I'm happy to work around their quirks esp in light of the fact they have the most comprehensive range anywhere, but If Henry James, Nova, Ceeway, Burns, Paragon et al can highly successfully process orders electronically half way around the world, I see no reason why they couldn't.

I should have taken pictures, it would have cleared some things up. Considering how remote they are, I'll bet they had a party telephone line in the recent past. Email might be a bit of a problem on a day-to-day basis.
I just picked up 3 mill lengths of 3/8 x .035 from here. I love the way they answer the phone... brrrring, brrrring... "Vogelsong". The guy is straight to the point but totally polite. I think some people mistake the shortness for rudeness. It's refreshing in this interweb world. Alistair, thanks for the pricing info you gave me the other day. It was spot on.
