    Default Brake bridge position question

    Good morning to all,

I was planning to braze a brake bridge to be used with normal reach (clarify: not short) brakes to allow for up to 32C commuter-style tires. I don't have the brake on hand yet but the distance appears to measure out 365mm along the seatstay from axle to center of brake bridge. Correct?

    Thanks,
    Hansen

Short answer is yes. The longer answer is rim radius + desired brake reach = brake hole location. So in this case, 311 (assuming 700C) + 54 = 365. I typically shoot for 366 to come closer to maxing out the brake reach. This is important is the tire is a true 32mm.

Gotcha... thanks for the extra tip!
